Nov. 3-9, 2011 - Evanston - OSEP Curriculum Developer Maggie Waldron hosted a teacher trainer workshop for the Watershed Dynamics and GLOBE Carbon Cycle projects. Teacher trainers from across the U.S. and around the world gathered at Northwestern University to learn how authentic datasets can be used to investigate the impacts of human activity on their local watersheds and the terrestrial carbon cycle. Dr. Venkatesh Merwade (pictured) of Purdue University joined participants of the Watershed Dynamics session to present his current research in hydrology using GIS. Participants will bring this experience back to their students and colleagues and implement the curricula in classrooms around the world.
